The tiniest movement of the angels are more powerful than anything the richest man in the world can do

This is a topic I have been thinking about over the past year or so. The richest or most powerful men in the world have less power than you might think. In this situation I am thinking mainly about tech leaders, but it could equally apply to a head of state, or anyone else. 

In the Bible, we see an example of where an archangel moves an incredibly heavy stone, the one that was closing the tomb where Jesus was buried.

After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.

Matthew 28: 1-3

The stone covering the entrance was huge. Yet an angel was able to move it without help.

Do the angels possess super strength? Yes, but it's a side-effect of a particular reason. It's because the angels belong to the spiritual world, which remember is a world that is more real and solid than our world. Their movements in the spiritual dimension will affect our physical dimension. The spiritual dimension is far stronger than the physical one, even though it doesn't appear that way to us at first glance because we can't easily detect the spiritual dimension.

No matter how much money or earthly power we have, that alone cannot affect the spiritual dimensions. Prayer and knowing God can, though!

Another Biblical example of the power of angels is when Gideon talked to an angel and it gave him a sign.

Gideon replied, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, give me a sign that it is really you talking to me. Please do not go away until I come back and bring my offering and set it before you.”

And the Lord said, “I will wait until you return.” Gideon went inside, prepared a young goat, and from an ephah of flour he made bread without yeast. Putting the meat in a basket and its broth in a pot, he brought them out and offered them to him under the oak.

The angel of God said to him, “Take the meat and the unleavened bread, place them on this rock, and pour out the broth.” And Gideon did so. Then the angel of the Lord touched the meat and the unleavened bread with the tip of the staff that was in his hand. Fire flared from the rock, consuming the meat and the bread. And the angel of the Lord disappeared. When Gideon realized that it was the angel of the Lord, he exclaimed, “Alas, Sovereign Lord! I have seen the angel of the Lord face to face!”

But the Lord said to him, “Peace! Do not be afraid. You are not going to die.”

Judges 6:17-23

By merely touching the staff to the meat and bread, the angel of the Lord caused fire to consume the meat and bread. A tiny movement from an angel can do infinitely more than what a rich or powerful man can do.

Another example is when King David sinned and God sent a pestilence. He was going to destroy Jerusalem via an angel, but then God relented:

So the Lord sent a pestilence on Israel from that morning until the appointed time; and seventy thousand of the people died, from Dan to Beer-sheba. But when the angel stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, the Lord relented concerning the evil, and said to the angel who was bringing destruction among the people, “It is enough; now stay your hand.” The angel of the Lord was then by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

Samuel 24: 15-16

We can see that the angel could have destroyed the entire city with one hand if God had wanted that.  

Why are angels so strong? Well, if we look upon our world as a Matrix-like world, the angels are in the real outer world of that. Therefore the angels are able to affect things in our Matrix-like world because they inhabit the outer world not just the inner one.

A different analogy is if we imagine for a minute that we are living in Flatland, the mythical 2-dimensional world discussed in author Edwin Abbott's book Flatland. Our 3 dimensions of space and one of time are basically a bit like Flatland. In our world, a further dimension exists (the spiritual dimension) but we as Flatlanders can't detect it easily.

Imagine a 2-dimensional Flatland world. Anyone moving in the third dimension in Flatland will certainly impact that 2D world if their movements happen to intersect with the 2D world. Likewise, anyone moving in the spiritual dimension on Earth will certainly impact our 3D world.

So this is why the tiniest movements of angels are more powerful than anything the richest man in the world can do. Unlike rich men who are moving only in the physical dimensions, the angels are moving in the spiritual dimension, and this movement is able to impact our physical dimensions.

Why Do Atheists Shout So Loudly When They Believe the Stakes are Lower?

When it comes to religious matters, we Christians believe our very souls are at stake.  Atheists do not believe there is anything so serious at stake.  Anyone would therefore expect that Christians would shout their message the loudest, since they believe there is the most at stake.  However, it seems that both 'shout' similarly loudly.  Why is that?    Both camps genuinely believe that their version is the underlying truth (although of course, both cannot be right).  Therefore, both camps have the truth at stake; they think of themselves as campaigners for the truth.  In addition, Christians believe our souls are at stake.  Why then do atheists shout so loud when they believe there is less at stake?   This is a question which is difficult to answer.  However, we should be aware that Christianity can actually benefit from these loud shoutings of the atheists.  Why is that? Do You Expect God to Match Up With YOUR Specifications?

"God isn't real if I don't believe in him" "I can't believe in a God who lets X or Y happen" The above are sentences which are heard frequently.  Curiously, these people seem to think that if God doesn't match up to THEIR specifications, He can't be real.  I think the root of this is the lack of ability we humans have to 'prove' or see the existence of God (or from the opposing viewpoint, to prove a lack of existence). The difficulty with which we can detect spiritual things compared to the ease with which we can detect the physical world makes it very easy for us to think we make the rules and that if God doesn't appear to follow 'our' rules (expectations), He can't be real.
