Showing posts with the label end of days

The book of Joel also predicts the same end times as Daniel and Revelation

The events of the last day of Earth are described in several books of the Bible. The most in-depth is the book of Revelation, where most of it is about end times. I don't know how I overlooked this before, but reading through the Bible I saw that the book of Joel, which is quite brief, also contains information about end times: I will show portents in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes. Joel 2: 30-31 Therefore, on the last day when the Lord comes, it is clear that it will be an event similar to an astronomical phenomenon, affecting both outer space and Earth. It may resemble a meteor strike or may even involve a meteor strike. It will certainly have a massive magnitude. Let's see how this compares with what's written in the books of Mark and Revelation: But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moo...

The vast majority of the Bible is the Old Testament - but that makes sense

Each year, I read the Bible all the way through. Each year, I always find it almost surprising how much of the Bible is the Old Testament. In fact, the New Testament is only about a quarter of the Bible.  This means if we want to learn as much as we can about Jesus, it will still be a fraction of what is written in the Bible. But it makes sense, if we think about it. There are many signposts in the Old Testament pointing to Jesus. We can't just ignore the signposts and focus purely on Jesus, even if we kind of want to. The signpost are part of the journey. We can't just say "let's skip ahead to the good stuff" - because all of it hangs together. It's a history - that points to Jesus. Indeed, right now, we are living a part of time where the Bible has shown that in the future are signposts to the end of the days. It is fairly specific about some of these. For example, take a look at these 2 very specific events which are in our future . Just as the Old Testamen...

The world will not end peacefully with a reverse Adam and Eve

The Bible makes many consistent prophecies about the end of the world. It will not end peacefully with a reverse Adam and Eve, no matter how much I want it to.  By "reverse Adam and Eve", I mean a gradual decline in population until only 1 man and 1 woman are left, both of which do not procreate. I used to wish for this type of ending of the human race because it seemed peaceful. But this wouldn't even be a peaceful ending anyway, because a constant long-term aging population results in all kinds of demographic problems - they're just different problems than a young population would have. So, no matter how good it sounds to have the human race dwindle away until no-one is left, it a) is clear from the Bible this isn't the way the human race ends on Earth, and b) it wouldn't really be a peaceful way for the human race to go anyway because there would be a lot of social problems with such a top-heavy demographic composition. How does the human race on Earth end ...

An end time prophecy about Egypt and the rest of the world from Isaiah

Most people are familiar with at least some of the content of the end time prophecies in the books of Daniel, Revelation, and some of the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John).  Yet Isaiah also had a very specific prophecy about Egypt: 1 An oracle concerning Egypt. See, the Lord is riding on a swift cloud      and comes to Egypt; the idols of Egypt will tremble at his presence,      and the heart of the Egyptians will melt within them. 2  I will stir up Egyptians against Egyptians,      and they will fight, one against the other,      neighbour against neighbour,      city against city, kingdom against kingdom; 3  the spirit of the Egyptians within them will be emptied out,      and I will confound their plans; they will consult the idols and the spirits of the dead      and the ghosts and the familiar spirits; 4  I will delive...

Is it possible that the beast described in the Bible at the End of Days is an AI?

In the book of Revelation, the Bible says that at the End of Days there will be a powerful beast which will rule the world: I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads. There were ten crowns on his horns. On each head was an evil name that was displeasing to God. The beast I saw looked like a leopard. But he had feet like a bear and a mouth like a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power, his throne, and great authority. One of the beast's heads seemed to have had a deadly wound. But the wound had been healed. The whole world was amazed and followed the beast. People worshiped the dragon, because he had given authority to the beast. They also worshiped the beast. They asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?"  Revelation 13:1-4 He opened his mouth to speak evil things against God. He told lies about God's character and about the place where God lives and about those who live in heaven with him. He was allowed to make war ...

2 very specific end time prophesies from the Bible

What are the end time prophesies in the Bible which I most want people to know about? There are 2 very specific prophesies in the Bible whose events can't easily get mistaken for anything else. The first prophecy is that Greece and Iran will go to war, and Greece will win. The second prophecy is that people will need to get a mark on their forehead or right hand in order to buy or sell anything. It's extremely important not to get that mark, since the prophecy in the Bible tells us that it's the mark of the enemy. The mark could be an implantable chip, a bar code tattoo, or some as yet unknown technology. You can read in more detail about the first prophecy, the one from the book of Daniel about Greece and Iran going to war . You can also learn in more detail about the second prophecy, the one from the book of Revelation about the Mark of the Beast . These prophecies are both quite specific and are unlikely to get confused for anything else.  For example, war in general cou...

End time prophesies in the Old Testament were consistent with those in the New Testament

Most people tend to think mainly of the book of Revelation when considering end time prophesies. However, there were also prophesies of end times in the Old Testament which were similar. The prophet Isaiah from the Old Testament had end time prophesies that were consistent with those in the book of Revelation (and in other places of the New Testament). Read Isaiah chapters 19 and 24 for this.  The prophet Daniel, also in the Old Testament, had similar end time prophesies. Read Daniel chapters 7, 8 and 9 for this. Recall that the Bible accurately predicted the fall of Babylon (at the time of its prediction, unthinkable - similar to the idea of a fall of London, Paris or New York). The Bible's predictions are accurate. This consistency between the Old Testament and New Testament means we must take these end time prophesies seriously. I wrote a separate article explaining why at this very moment we are not at the end of days , but this could change suddenly.  When the end times ...

When Jesus comes here again, it's not a second chance for us - so be prepared!

There are many references in the Bible showing that Jesus will come to Earth again. But this is not a second chance for us. He is not here to teach us and to conquer sin - he already completed that the first time around.  Even though those alive today were not here at the time he came to teach, we have all his teachings available to us! These are written in the Bible. So we have access to all of that. Do not make the mistake of thinking that when he comes again, it will be for another chance. That already happened the first time he came. When he comes next, it will be to gather those who are waiting for him. so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. Hebrews 9:28 This is why the end of days has not already happened - God is delaying in order to give us time to decide if we will follow Jesus. Indeed, Jesus himself told his disciples that the end of days would come...

Will the End of Days arrive via climate change?

The End of Days has been covered in quite a lot of detail in the Bible. It is clear that there will be economic suffering in addition to oppressive leadership . There will also be a lot of physical suffering . I heard what sounded like a voice coming from among the four living creatures, which said, "A kilo of wheat for a day's wages, and three kilos of barley for a day's wages.  But do not damage the olive trees and the vineyards!" Revelation 6:6 The Bible verse above indicates an extremely expensive price for food. Could this occur via a route of climate change and/or ecological disaster? The answer is yes it's possible, but alternative routes are also possible. The Bible spells out the results of the end of days, but not the exact route it will happen. So we cannot know for sure the exact path it will take. As I have mentioned before, the Bible tells us THAT something will happen, but not HOW or WHEN . An illustration of a prophecy coming to pass is durin...

Doomsday bunkers will exist but will be useless at the end of days

Doomsday bunkers will not protect anyone at the End of Days. Between now and the End of Days, there will be natural disasters, war, and other horrible things. Although doomsday bunkers will exist, they certainly won't protect anyone from the End of Days. Two prophets in the Bible have clearly prophesied about people hiding underground at the End of Days. Let's take a look at these two different readings from the Bible. One is from the prophet Isaiah, before the birth of Jesus, and the other is from the prophet John of Patmos, in the book of Revelation, the final chapter of the Bible. These different prophets from distinctly different time periods both have the same message for us: Enter the caves of the rocks and the holes of the ground, from the terror of the Lord, and from the glory of his majesty, when he rises to terrify the earth. On that day people will throw away to the moles and to the bats their idols of silver and their idols of gold, which they made for th...

The end of days will appear as a cosmic event

In the Bible, it is made clear that Jesus will come to earth a second time. That time will not be as a sacrifice, as he did when he died on the cross the first time he was on earth. What will the second time look like? It is clear from the description in the Bible that it will be a cosmic event. Let's take a look. In the passage below from the book of Luke, it is Jesus himself speaking to the people: “There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on the earth distress among nations confused by the roaring of the sea and the waves. People will faint from fear and foreboding of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see ‘the Son of Man coming in a cloud’ with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to take place, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Luke21: 25-28 From the description above, it seems that some cosmic event is clearly indicated at the time of the second co...

The pandemic appeared suddenly. Jesus will too.

At the end of times, Jesus will come again. It will be sudden when it happens. Here are some scriptures about this event: “But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. For as the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, and they knew nothing until the flood came and swept them all away, so too will be the coming of the Son of Man. Then two will be in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. Two women will be grinding meal together; one will be taken and one will be left. Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But understand this: if the owner of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for th...

Why the coronavirus Covid-19 is not going to cause the end of the world

The coronavirus Covid-19 has caused major problems all around the world. The pandemic has caused sickness and death. Besides that, it has caused economic mayhem. Does this mean that end times are upon us? No, and here is why. The Bible clearly says that there are going to be a number of signs showing end times. One of these is that Greece will go to war against Persia and Medea (modern-day Iran) . In this war, Greece will win. Here is the reading from the Bible that shows this: In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar a vision appeared to me, Daniel, after the one that had appeared to me at first. In the vision I was looking and saw myself in Susa the capital, in the province of Elam, and I was by the river Ulai. I looked up and saw a ram standing beside the river. It had two horns. Both horns were long, but one was longer than the other, and the longer one came up second. I saw the ram charging westward and northward and southward. All beasts were powerless to with...

HOW and WHY will we wind up with a restrictive system of identity and banking at the End of Days?

I've covered economics at the End of Days in other posts. But the more I look at the signs of today, the slightly more surprised I am that we will wind up with a restrictive system of identity and banking. I do not doubt that this will still happen at End of Days. Prophecies in the Bible have always correctly predicted what will happen - just not why and how . This is the reason for being puzzled: today, we have moved into a more privacy-aware age. There is more backlash against companies who use our personal data. Although the internet giants like Google, Facebook, and so on are still heavily utilized by people, there is an increasing counterculture of privacy. There are more and more privacy-oriented browsers now available, and people can choose to protect their privacy in other ways (avoiding mainstream social media, using a VPN service, and more).  This subculture is becoming more and more active. It's not just a handful of people here and there. Surely then, as this ...

The danger of thinking we are not in the days mentioned by the Bible

I think that one of the reasons that the Jewish leaders did not recognize Jesus as Messiah was that they simply didn't expect that it would happen during their days. This sort of thing was to be so special that surely it could not have been for their day and age.... could it? And yet it was. But because they did not consider that possibility, they dismissed Jesus as a scoundrel and heretic. But be warned: Jesus will be coming again: “So when you see the desolating sacrilege standing in the holy place, as was spoken of by the prophet Daniel (let the reader understand), then those in Judea must flee to the mountains; the one on the housetop must not go down to take what is in the house; the one in the field must not turn back to get a coat. Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing infants in those days! Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a sabbath. For at that time there will be great suffering, such as has not been from the beginning of the worl...

Will the end of the world involve an alien invasion?

No. According to the Bible, there is nothing there about an alien invasion. You can read more about End of Times in other posts , and there is nothing to indicate an alien invasion. So, if you've watched Stranger Things or other shows like that, then no, our world will not end with an invasion of the type hinted at there. However, there is one particular area which could suggest the presence of a single alien entity (as opposed to an invasion). This is the emergence of a new ruler at the End of Days as written in Revelation; one which tries to make it compulsory to have the Mark of the Beast on all humans. Read here for why you must never, ever, agree to receive the mark of the beast , no matter how tempted you may be. Where does the possibility of an alien come in? It's because this leader is succeeded by second leader, whose identity not made completely clear in the Bible. Let's see what Revelation has to say about this: Then I saw another beast that rose out of the...

Implantable chips now used in company for cafeteria-style payments - one step closer to the Mark of the Beast?

I've talked before about what the Bible says about the Mark of the Beast and you can recap that here . Up until now, there wasn't an implanted technology in everyday use that was actually being utilized to make payments as described in Revelation 13. This has recently changed. NPR reported that a U.S. company has offered to implant chips in the hands of their employees (see reference 1). These chips allow them to make cafeteria-style payments. In other words, a chip inside their hand will be used to identify the employee and to deduct funds from their cafeteria account when making purchases. It is an opt-in program, so the employees are not being compelled to do it. Let's take a look at what the Bible says about the Mark of the Beast: Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell who does not have the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number o...

End of Days - not yet. Greece and Iran have to go to war.

Recently I was reading the book of Daniel. It states clearly that at the end of days, Greece and Iran will be at war against each other. God gave a vision to Daniel: In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar a vision appeared to me, Daniel, after the one that had appeared to me at first. All beasts were powerless to withstand it, and no one could rescue from its power; it did as it pleased and became strong. As I was watching, a male goat appeared from the west, coming across the face of the whole earth without touching the ground. The goat had a horn between its eyes. It came toward the ram with the two horns that I had seen standing besid...
