Is it possible that the beast described in the Bible at the End of Days is an AI?

In the book of Revelation, the Bible says that at the End of Days there will be a powerful beast which will rule the world:

I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads. There were ten crowns on his horns. On each head was an evil name that was displeasing to God. The beast I saw looked like a leopard. But he had feet like a bear and a mouth like a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power, his throne, and great authority. One of the beast's heads seemed to have had a deadly wound. But the wound had been healed. The whole world was amazed and followed the beast. People worshiped the dragon, because he had given authority to the beast. They also worshiped the beast. They asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?"

Revelation 13:1-4

He opened his mouth to speak evil things against God. He told lies about God's character and about the place where God lives and about those who live in heaven with him. He was allowed to make war against God's people and to overcome them. He was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.

Revelation 13: 6-7

The second beast did great and miraculous signs. He even made fire come from heaven. It came down to earth where everyone could see it. He did the signs the first beast wanted him to do. In that way the second beast tricked those who live on the earth. He ordered them to set up a statue to honor the first beast. The first beast was the one who had been wounded by the sword and still lived. The second beast was allowed to give breath to the statue so it could speak. He was allowed to kill all who refused to worship the statue.

Revelation 13: 13-15

Could this beast be an AI rather than a human being, alien entity, or evil spirit? Yes, it's possible, based on the readings above. This does not mean the beast is definitely going to be an AI, just that it's possible. Here is the reasoning:

Some people would willingly follow authority from an AI, which would fit with "The whole world was amazed and followed the beast".

The idea of a second beast being even stronger than the first beast would also fit with a second AI coming after a first AI.

The beast using weaponry of some sort would fit with an AI which "made fire come from heaven. It came down to earth where everyone could see it".

All of these passages could be consistent for an AI, but it could also be similarly consistent for a human, alien or other entity. The Bible does not specify the exact nature of the beast, just that there is one coming.

Regardless of whether the beast is an AI, a human, or anything else, the Bible is clear that we must not listen to it, and we must certainly not receive the mark allowing us to buy and sell:

The beast forced all the people, small and great, rich and poor, slave and free, to have a mark placed on their right hands or on their foreheads.  No one could buy or sell without this mark, that is, the beast's name or the number that stands for the name.

Revelation 13: 16-17

A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.” This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus.

Revelation 14: 9-12

The mark allowing people to buy and sell could be anything - an ID chip, a barcode, a tattoo, or something else. The point is that we must not receive that mark, even though it will make our lives really hard not to have it since we can't buy or sell anything. Yet that is infinitely preferable to being rejected by God.

To sum up, the Bible does not describe specifically an AI beast - this is just one possible interpretation. These Bible passages would fit equally for a beast that was human, alien, or something else.
