Doomsday bunkers will exist but will be useless at the end of days

Doomsday bunkers will not protect anyone at the End of Days. Between now and the End of Days, there will be natural disasters, war, and other horrible things. Although doomsday bunkers will exist, they certainly won't protect anyone from the End of Days.

Two prophets in the Bible have clearly prophesied about people hiding underground at the End of Days. Let's take a look at these two different readings from the Bible. One is from the prophet Isaiah, before the birth of Jesus, and the other is from the prophet John of Patmos, in the book of Revelation, the final chapter of the Bible. These different prophets from distinctly different time periods both have the same message for us:

Enter the caves of the rocks
and the holes of the ground,
from the terror of the Lord,
and from the glory of his majesty,
when he rises to terrify the earth.

On that day people will throw away
to the moles and to the bats
their idols of silver and their idols of gold,
which they made for themselves to worship,

to enter the caverns of the rocks
and the clefts in the crags,
from the terror of the Lord,
and from the glory of his majesty,
when he rises to terrify the earth.

Isaiah 2: 19-21

When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and there came a great earthquake; the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood, and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the fig tree drops its winter fruit when shaken by a gale. The sky vanished like a scroll rolling itself up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place. Then the kings of the earth and the magnates and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

Revelation 6: 12-17

In both cases, there are examples of people entering caves and hiding among rocks. This could refer to doomsday bunkers. Remember that these are predictions of things far in the future from the time these prophets spoke and wrote. So entering caves and hiding among rocks may be the closest language they had for something that they didn't have precise words for.

Regardless, hiding underground will not protect anyone from when Jesus comes again at the End of Days. What will protect people? Actually knowing God through Jesus. By this I mean knowing Jesus in a personal way, not just in a theoretical way, and understanding and accepting personally what he did for us (died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins so we could have eternal life, and he rose again to rule in heaven). If you know Jesus, understand what he did for us, and accept his free gift of eternal life, then Jesus's return at the End of Days will be a positive event and not a negative one for you.

Knowing Jesus is important; Doomsday bunkers (at least at the End of Days) are not important.
